I need to tell the world what a fun time Christmas with the Hardin Clan was. The Fred Hardin's and the Gene Hardin's gathered together for a wonderful time during Christmas holidays. But, since Niece Amanda and Daughter Kelly have covered it so nicely, link to their sites and read all about it. I have scanned Our Darling Elves and put the photo in on my site. I had found pj's for the 3 youngest guys to wear...the picture says it all. Max is standing, Ash is on the left and Parker is on the right.
Right now, Fred is in rehearsal for All the Way Home at Warner Robins Little Theatre. He is directing a very talented cast of folks in this Pulitzer Prize winning play based on James Agee's novel, A Death in the Family, also a Pulitzer Prize winner. Yesterday (Saturday, Jan. 24th), we drove up to Atlanta with his producer, costumer and make-up lady to visit Atlanta Costume. "Atlanta Costco" is a great place to go for costumes, unusual props, and makeup, so we spent a good deal of time lineing up the period outfits needed for Knoxville in the early 1900's. I think Central Georgia is in for a really great show, although there are some who just don't want serious plays. I just can't figure what they mean...all the local theaters wonder about those folks!
Friday night Fred and I attended RAIN: A TRIBUTE TO THE BEETLES. WOW!! I felt like I had attended a live Beetles concert from back in my college era. What fun in an audience of folks our age who had grown up listening to the Beetles. Open the link and check out RAIN's website to learn a little about them.
The 4 (at times 5) men sang and played their own music...but they WERE John, Paul, George, and Ringo. The show followed the Beetle's career from first album until the break-up in 1970 and further. The concert also included renditions of songs each of the Beetles made famous after the breakup. Our tickets gave us almost 3 hours of almost non-stop Beetles entertainment (there was a 15 minute intermission)! If they come your way and you have a chance to attend their concert...and if you were ever a Beetles Fan, you want to buy your ticket and not miss the show. If you're my age, it's a great walk down Memory Lane!
